Happy Bhag Jayegi – Movie Review

 

The movie begins showing”Happy”, a girl from Amritsar escapes from her wedding and lands up in Lahore, in the house of Bilal Almed, who is a well known politician played by Abhay Deol. Happy is in love with Guddu, played by “Ali Fazal” but her father isn’t convinced about her marrying “Guddu”, the reason why she escapes.

Once “Happy” reaches Bilal’s home, Bilal wants to send her back to India while “Happy” doesn’t want to go. The drama further increases when Bagga, Happy’s fiancee and Happy’s father reach Lahore and create further buzz.

No surprises when I say that the most interesting and funny character is that of “Bagga”, played by Jimmy Shergill. This is Diana’s second movie and she looks better in terms of acting than in her first movie “Cocktail”. Abhay Deol looks amazing and debutant Momal sheikh who plays the role of Bilal’s fiancee, has done justice to her role.

There is an interesting romantic plot in the movie where the viewers have a thought whether Happy returns to her love “Guddu” or falls for Bilal who tries everything to make sure Happy and Guddu unite. You have to watch the movie to find that out.

The movie is an entertainer from beginning to end and is able to give you laugh attacks. The first half is impressive compared to the second, whereas some scenes in second half may look similar. On an ending note, the entire plot is good and the comedy keeps entertainted throughout in the movie.

If you are looking for a movie outing with friends or family this weekend, “Happy Bhag Jaegi” is an interesting, fun filled comedy, and a good entertainer.
