“Madaari” is yet another extraordinary acting by Irrfan Khan, story of “Nirmal Kumar”, a shattered father who loses his 7-year-old son in a disaster.
The 2-hour 13-minute movie will keep you engaged till the climax to watch the grieving father fight for his loss because of the corrupt political system. The story tells us how a grieving father transforms to a Kidnapper of Politician’s son and stands against the ill-fated political corruption.
Irrfan’s performance as a father looks so real and powerful that leaves audience into tears and the heart for sure cries out for the pain that he goes through.
I was in tears twice watching the movie. Once when Irrfan is in the hospital corridor after finding out his son’s loss, crying and trying to cope with the loss. Second time during the climax which shows the bonding between Kidnapper “Irrfan” and the victim, played by “Vishesh Bansal”.
The cop’s character is played by Jimmy Shergill, who looks once again convincing portraying the serious police official looking out for the clueless kidnapper. The young boy “Vishesh” has been able to bring out his best and we could see that in few scenes which show how his relationship grows with the Kidnapper.
The movie is gripping and will keep the audience glued to the screens till the end. Nirmal fights against the powerful without thinking about the consequences and brings out the dirty truth that exists in our system. Its gives a message to combat against the wrong instead of being a sufferer.
To wrap up, Director Nishikant Kamat’s “Madaari” portrays the fight of a dedicated father whose life revolves around bringing up his only son, meant family to him and then suddenly one day something happens which takes his son away from him forever. Blame the corrupted politics! Cinematographer Avinash Arun’s work is commendable that brings out different moods of the characters of the Movie.
We have seen some powerful movies in the past that has portrayed the existence of corruption in our system and definitely “Madaari” is one of them. Irrfan Khan shines in the movie and his performance is a simply brilliant and nothing less that “one of his best”.
