“The Jungle Book 2016” Movie review : A Stunning watch

Remember watching this Cartoon some two decades back?

Probably every Indian Kid from 80’s and 90’s grew up watching India’s most favorite cartoon “Mowgli”. The story of an boy who grew up in the jungle and becomes a part is them is what caught every kids attention and they loved it.

The movie “The Jungle Book” directed by Jon Favreau, is a perfect extravaganza for this weekend. The kids are going to like it more, but trust me its a must watch for grown ups as well.

Story: The little “Mowgli” is raised in the jungle by a pack of wolves, a panther (Bagheera), and a Bear ( Balloo) after the Tiger (Sher Khan) kills his dad. When Sher Khan wants the man-cub, the animals decide to move Mowgli out of the jungle to save his life. When Bagheera takes him to leave him at the village, Sher Khan attacks them. Somehow Mowgli escapes and then meets Balloo. He starts living with Balloo and enjoys life. But Bagheera is back and wants Mowgli to leave the Jungle. Meanwhile Sherkan kills Akila the head of the “Wolf”. When Mowgli discovers this, he goes back to the jungle.

What happens next????? We all now, but you have to watch this as it gives you some terrific scenic sequences and the animals. Disney is once again back to entertain you in the most spectacular way.

The movie realeased in India on 8th April in the 3D format and in selected screens with RealD 3D and IMAX 3D format. It is scheduled to be released in the rest of the world in the Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D formats on April 15, 2016.

If you are watching in Hindi, you will not get to see the “Jungle Jungle baat chali hai” Song in the movie which came out few weeks ahead of the movie’s release in India.

Saw it just last night. Enjoyed it very much. My eldest daughter had the original movie on VHS years ago. We memorised every song. Never knew there was a cartoon series.

I went into the cinema with lots of trepidation, given the reputation of remakes. I stepped out utterly impressed. Even a little teary eye since they sang that song in its original form. 😛
