Yet another example by Ministry of Railways who are making the best use of Social Media and resolving issues raised by Passengers. We have been these days hearing a lot of such incidents where travelers are reaching out to the Ministry by Twitter for the issues they face while traveling in the Trains.
Aklesh Sahani, was travelling from Mumbai to Vadodara in 12933-Karnavati Express on 19th March, when he noticed that the water bottle “Rail neer” sold by the Railway catering service in the train whose MRP is Rs/-15 was charged Rs/- 20. On objecting, the man who sold the bottle said he won’t give the bottle for Rs/- 15. Aklesh then tweeted to the Railway Ministry about the issue and received a call from the team within 15 minutes.
Within some time, the TC of the train along with the Manager of catering service/pantry car came to Aklesh and were sorry to him for the incident and told him they were not aware of the matter. They also refunded 5/- rs to each passenger who paid 20/- Rs for that bottle.
Don’t hesitate in reaching out to the Railways, when the Ministry is taking such applaudable and exemplary actions.
